With eyes fixed on promoting humanity, High Chief Dr Azubuike Austin Ekweozor (Ide Umuawulu, Nwanayoeze) a maritime expert, an industrialist, bussinesman, philanthropist and an employer of labour, has been touching lives positively in his community, state, country and the world at large.
Earlier today, the Acting Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mr Gab Okpalaeze led some selected staff of the establishment to a courtesy call to the Umuawulu-born philanthropist turned politician, High Chief Dr Azubuike Austin Ekweozor (Ide Umuawulu, Nwanayoeze), aspirant for Federal House of Representatives, Awka North and South Federal Constituency in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
Mr. Okpalaeze in his speech emphasized that ABS is repositioning itself to be a global media outfit that will be telling the story of Ndi Anambra and by extension Ndigbo as it is, including showcasing the rich cultural heritage and sites in Anambra in order to attract investments through tourism.
Mr. Okpalaeze who recently inaugurated a revenue think-thank committee to shore up the revenue base of the state media outfit through key partnership with stakeholders and media friendly individuals, said the visit was to appreciate High Chief Dr Ekweozor for being a wonderful partner to ABS over the years and the need to continue his support and partnership especially now that the state needs innovations to achieve results.
Welcoming the ABS crew, Ide Umuawulu assured he would continually support Anambra Broadcasting Service as the station remains the best Broadcasting station in the South East Nigeria and call on other well-to-do Ndi Anambra to que in and reposition the station Maka na nkea bu nke anyi.
'Having heard all you said, I found out that ABS is in dare need of means of transportation to help them in their day to day activities; you all know the project I have at hand but nevertheless, I will donate one Sienna Bus to the establishment as my own little Easter gift' Ide Umuawulu said.
Continuing, he said that his ambition to represent the people of Awka North and South Federal Constituency at the Federal House Of Representative come 2023 is to ensure they enjoy the dividends of democracy through quality representation and life impacting projects.
The traditional ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Mmaduadichie Egwuonu (EzeUdo II of Umuawulu) who was present during the visit and the President General of Umuawulu, Mr. Charles Chike, Director General IDE Umuawulu Campaign Organization Prince Chinedu Okafor, thanked Chief Ekweozor for the gesture saying he has proven himself worthy of his personality.
The Director Of Administration, ABS, Lady Tina Ekenta, ABS On Air Personality, Prince Emeka Kalu, Ngozi Obileri Of News and Current Affairs and Mr. Casmir Obiegbolu Of Programmes Department who were part of the ABS crew during the visit, and members of Ide Umuawulu Campaign Organization thanked High Chief Dr Ekweozor and prayed for him to succeed in his future endeavors.
